Each section of the Highways England road network will have a star rating of its safety by next March.
Highways England has set a target that by the end of 2020 more than 90% of travel on the strategic road network will have a safety rating of 3* under the European Road Assessment Programme monitoring system (or equivalent). EuroRAP is managed in the UK by charity the Road Safety Foundation.
