Midlands Connect area eyes statutory status

A sub-national statutory transport body for the Midlands could be created using new powers promised by the Government. 

The Government announced this month that it will amend the Cities and Local Government Devolution Bill to put sub-national transport bodies on a statutory footing (LTT 16 Oct). The first likely to be established is Transport for the North.
