Suffolk County Council is revamping the way it procures rural transport services in an effort to deliver an improved service at lower cost.
Suffolk currently spends £1.4m a year on demand responsive transport, dial-a-ride, ‘wheels within’ wheels and community car services. This includes the cost of owning and maintaining 47 vehicles, which are loaned to various community transport operations.
