Centro, the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive, will be abolished if a combined authority (CA) is established for the conurbation.
The seven districts – Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry, Sandwell, Dudley, Wolverhampton and Walsall – hope to secure Parliamentary approval for a CA in time for it to be operational from 1 April next year.
