Tube strikes can produce net economic benefit as commuters find more efficient journeys

NEW ANALYSIS of the London Tube strike in February 2014 by researchers at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge has found that, contrary to the inevitable media claims of the strike “costing the economy millions”, it may have enabled a sizeable fraction of commuters to find better routes to work, and actually produced a net economic benefit.
