Norfolk County Council has filled a £30m gap in the Norwich Northern Distributor Road project, paving the way for construction to begin this autumn.
The cost of the 12.5-mile dual carriageway NDR and the associated Postwick Hub interchange at the A47 east of Norwich had been estimated at £148.5m in 2013 prices but a review by Norfolk and contractor Balfour Beatty Civils revised the cost to £178.45m (LTT 21 Aug).
