Buses could be banned from London’s Oxford Street – or their numbers dramatically reduced – when Crossrail opens in 2019, London’s transport commissioner Sir Peter Hendy has said.

Crossrail will have stations on Oxford Street at Bond Street and Tottenham Court Road and Hendy said the line’s opening would be a “game changer” for public transport access to the shopping area.
