Hybrid buses will have a minute impact on capital's CO2 emissions

David Brown of Transport for London has missed the point in pleading the case for the hybrid diesel buses he is ordering (Letters LTT?25 Jan).

Diesel buses are simply no longer acceptable in an era when "tackling climate change is humanity's single most important struggle" (London mayor Ken Livingstone, March 2006).
