FirstGroup will retain its Great Western passenger franchise for another three-and-a-half years, the DfT has announced.
The direct award will run from 30 September 2015 to 1 April 2019, with the DfT having the option to extend for a further year. FirstGroup will pay the Government around £68m to April 2019. No other financial details are available.
