The number of councils in Wales could be cut from 22 to fewer than ten under Welsh Government plans.
The Government last year proposed reducing the number of councils to 12, endorsing the recommendations of the Williams Commission (LTT 05 Sep 14). But Leighton Andrews, the minister for public services, said last month: “I think there is certainly a case for coming down to single figures.”
