Commuters would fume if rail lines were converted for buses

It’s interesting that one of the authors of the Institute of Economic Affairs’ report on converting railways to busways is regular LTT anti-rail correspondent Paul Withrington (‘Times backs think tank call for rail tracks to be converted into busways’ LTT 06 Feb).

Whilst many readers of The Times may well be fed up with the cost and performance of their journey to work mode, I am bemused about how Paul would expect commuters and their employers to put up with the months...
