More parking needed at Stonehenge, says English Heritage

Record visitor numbers to Stonehenge has prompted a request for more parking spaces at the world heritage centre. More than 1.3 million people have visited the prehistoric monument since the opening of the £27m visitor centre in December 2013.

A planning application submitted by English Heritage for more parking spaces at the centre is to go before Wiltshire Council.

English Heritage, which is responsible for the site, said the improvements would create about 25 extra coach parking spaces...
