I agree in general terms with much of what Ian Drummond writes about the misuse of statistics, including the introduction of unnecessary complexity and jargon, and on the importance of giving credit to effective interventions than to ineffective or counter-productive measures (Letters LTT 05 Sep). However, he is plain wrong on other points, at least in relation to speed cameras.
