UK residents must register cars imported from EU

I read an article in the September edition of Parking Review about untraceable overseas motorists with interest and just wanted to point out the article stating that the EU allows European vehicles to drive on UK roads for up to six months before having to register with the DVLA, is not true for UK residents.

My reading of it is that UK residents are required to tax and register a foreign vehicle in the UK straight away (reference: www.gov.uk/importing-vehicles-into-the-uk/temporary-imports)....
