Waipa, New Zealand, rolls out parking sensors

A New Zealand town has installed sensors to ensure fair access to parking spaces in the heart of its central business district (CBD). Cambridge, in New Zealand’s north island, has a policy of offering drivers free parking to attract visitors, residents and businesses into the town centre.

Cambridge’s local authority Waipa District Council wants more accurate usage data in order to have the right time restrictions on spaces where free parking is in high demand.
