Media gives grudging approval to the opening of Edinburgh’s tram line

The papers were generally positive about the quality of Edinburgh’s new tram line, but at the same time did not fail to remind their readers how much time and money has been sucked up by the scheme.

Media coverage of the opening of Edinburgh’s new tram line was not, on the whole, terribly positive. The Financial Times, for example, on 30 May, observed that the new tram was “years late, hundreds of millions of pounds over-budget and half as long as planned”.
