Congestion charging is a major issue of political disagreement for the forthcoming local elections in areas that have received funds from the DfT's Transport Innovation Fund.

Conservative-controlled Cambridgeshire County Council's plans for a transport investment package including congestion charging in Cambridge (LTT?25 Oct 07) are being opposed by the city council's Labour Group but supported by the city's ruling Liberal Democrats.
