Islington council is to use ANPR cars to detect contraventions and send details to the nearest available civil enforcement officer (CEO). The TES Generation 4 ANPR cars will allocate CEOs more efficiently to boost compliance, deter illegal parking and reduce costs, said the London borough.
The council said trials of the new system last year were successful. Three Generation 4 cars will begin operation in April, replacing TES’s Generation 1 cars.
