Brian Cooke, the chairman of transport user group London Travelwatch, has been forced to resign after publicly backing Conservative candidate Boris Johnson in the run-up to the mayoral election. The London Assembly's transport committee grilled Cooke last week over remarks he made in a press release issued just days before the election on 1 May.
