Over 6000 Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority commuters downloaded a new mobile ticketing app to Android and iPhone smartphones in the first week of availability. Developed by UK mobile payment specialist company Masabi, the app – introduced as a cost-effective alternative to installing additional ticket vending machines - is currently being offered to passengers using lines starting from Boston’s North Station on the area’s T zoned commuter rail system.
