Councils must be hands-on over bailiff fees, says LGO

Local authorities need to play a more proactive role to ensure that their bailiff partners do not charge inappropriate or unreasonable fees, advises the Local Government Ombudsman (LGO). A new report from the LGO highlights cases that resulted in injustice to the debtors involved.
