The Government’s review of the Highways Agency road network is likely to recommend selling it off, local government leaders will hear next week.

“Although the feasibility study has yet to reach firm conclusions, it is likely to recommend some form of privatisation of the strategic road network and options will include regionalisation,” Local Government Association officers will tell councillors on the LGA’s economy and transport board.
