Rail freight site ‘catalyst for M1-A6 link’

Central Bedfordshire Council is supporting plans for a strategic rail freight interchange to the north of Luton that could provide the catalyst for a new northern bypass of the town connecting the M1 to the A6.

The rail freight interchange would be built at Sundon, beside the Midland Main Line, with road access provided by a link from a new M1 junction, 11a.
