Britain’s light rail systems enjoyed mixed fortunes last year, with some recording rising passenger numbers but two recording declines.
DfT figures show that passenger numbers on the Tyne and Wear Metro fell two million to 37.9 million and passengers on the Nottingham Express Transit fell from 9.7 to 9 million.
Passengers on London’s Docklands Light Railway rose from 78.3 to 86.1 million.
