Drug driving offence features in Bill

A new offence of drug driving in England, Scotland and Wales was unveiled in the Queen’s Speech. The offence could incur a prison term of six months and a fine for driving with certain “controlled drugs” in the body. Offenders could face a fine of up to £5,000 and a driving ban of at least 12 months. The proposed legislation is included in the Crime, Communications and Court Bill.
