EV charging implications at workplaces ‘ignored’

The Implications of people charging electric vehicles at their workplace “simply haven’t been thought through”, according to one of the UK’s biggest electricity suppliers. 

David Farr, project manager, sustainable transport with energy provider SSE, told an electric vehicle conference in London that 20% of charging capability was expected to come from workplaces, 70% from home-based charging, and 10% from car parks, supermarkets and public charging points.
