Councillors in Cambridgeshire this week agreed to phase out funding for most tendered bus services over the next three years, with community transport being used to fill some of the gaps.
Phasing out the £2.7m bus subsidy is part of the Conservative council’s programme to make £540m of savings over five years. Cambridgeshire currently supports about 80 services that carry 1.9 million passengers.
