Commission doubles the cost of lack of competition

The lack of competition on many local bus routes outside London disadvantages bus passengers by twice as much as the Competition Commission previously thought, according to a revised analysis. 

In October’s provisional remedies report, the Commission said the harm to consumers, as a consequence of the adverse effects on competition, amounted to between £58m and £148m a year, adding that the figure was more likely to be in the upper half of that range...
