The government has been accused of failing to monitor or understand the impact of last year’s comprehensive spending review on bus services by a cross-party of group of MPs.

In its report on bus services after the spending review, the Commons Transport Committee concluded that the industry faces its “greatest financial challenge for a generation” as a result of current cuts to local authority grants, concessionary fare reimbursement, and planned cuts to Bus Service...
