Transport For London is calling for a £1bn-plus investment in the capital’s railways during Network Rail’s next five-year regulatory control period, 2014/15-2018/19 (CP5).
The most costly part of the package is a £310m (2007 prices) enhancement to the capital’s orbital rail services, including train lengthening, additional peak services on the West and East London Lines, and electrification of the Gospel Oak to Barking line.
