Lake District scoops £5m DfT cash to cut visitor car dependency

A programme to cut car use among visitors to the Lake District has secured £4.9m from the DfT’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF).

The funding will support a range of projects including more bus services; bike-buses; smartcard ticketing; better cycle routes; and cycle and car hire.
