Bus operators show little appetite for concessionary fare appeals

The DfT this week welcomed the news that bus operators have only lodged 29 appeals against this year’s local authority concessionary fare reimbursement schemes in England.

The number has surprised the Department and observers who had expected that operators would be keen to lodge appeals as a way of testing the DfT’s new reimbursement guidance that cuts operator payments.
