UK’s most punctual train operator says 90% ‘on time’ not good enough

The head of the country’s most punctual train operator has criticised the rail industry’s view that running 90% of trains on time is a high quality performance.

In an interview with Transit, c2c managing director Mark Hopwood said that most industries would not regard providing a reliable service only 90% of the time as

acceptable. He warned that passengers had greater expectations, and business could be lost unless more challenging targets are set.
