Longer lorries: no effect expected on road safety

 

The DfT is consulting on allowing longer lorries on Britain’s roads, extending the maximum permitted length of articulated lorries by 2.05 metres to 18.75 metres. This is the same as the current maximum permitted length of a rigid truck with a drawbar trailer.
