‘More than half of speed cameras are inactive,’ says Which?

Over half of speed cameras in England and Wales are not working according to research carried out by consumer watchdog magazine Which?

The findings showed that 47% of the cameras were working at any given time in all 43 police authorities in England and Wales. The study also highlighted large regional differences, with all 60 cameras in Sussex working compared to just 10% of Lancashire’s 287 sites.
