Electrification studied for Cardiff Valley Lines

The DfT and Welsh Assembly Government are to develop a business case for electrifying the Valley line network of railways above Cardiff.

Transport secretary Philip Hammond said the DfT had established that a “strong high-level case” may exist for electrification.
