Particulates cut many lives short

Particulates from transport and other human sources shorten many people’s lives, according to the Government’s Committee on the Medical Effects of Air Pollutants (COMEAP). It says current concentrations of small particulates (PM2.5) lead to an average loss of life expectancy of three-nine months across the UK.
