The threat to local authority transport teams is alarming. However, Bristol City Council transport officers, despite being dedicated, have been digging their own graves for many years.

Bristol MPs and councillors went along with the privatisation of transport that resulted in officers creating frivolous strategies and conferences held in the daytime, sometimes at venues that had no bus or rail service.
