David Mackay, the chairman of Transport Edinburgh, Lothian Buses and Edinburgh Trams has today made public his decision to step aside, with immediate effect, from his position at all three organisations.
His design to resign follows continuing problems with the troubled Edinburgh Tram project. Last month local councillors iapproved plans to truncate the city’s first tram line because building the whole route is unaffordable.
