London councils to merge services to offset major cuts

Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham to consider combining parking teams

Three London councils are to merge some of their services in a bid to make annual savings of between £50m and £100m. Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster are due to publish recommendations on which services to merge by next February.

Several cross-council working groups will then draw up detailed plans on how and when to introduce the streamlined services.
