Huntingdonshire free parking plan rejected

A plan by Huntingdonshire District Council to allow limited free parking has been rejected by the west Cambridgeshire local authority’s cabinet.

Concerns about the economic climate means that the proposal to allow three hours of free parking at the Riverside car park have been deemed unaffordable. The council has drawn up an austerity package, which may save £6m over the next four years. Under this plan, two hours of  free parking will be allowed in 38 bays at the car park...
