The 1,001-space Crown car park in Ipswich has been closed due to structural problems. Ipswich City?Council has decided to demolish the car park, which is suffering from what is described as irreparable corrosion of steel reinforcement in its concrete ramps.
The ageing car park was due to close this year but the decision to close it was taken in November 2009 following a report from the council's structural engineers.
