Darlington cuts tariffs to attract more shoppers

Darlington Borough Council has halved parking tariffs at one of its car parks in a bid to help commuters and shoppers combat the effects of the economic downturn.

The daily charge for parking at the council-run 180-space Chestnut Street site has been cut from £4 to £2. The CCTV monitored car park is situated just off Northgate, close to the town centre.
