The NET system in Nottingham will be expanded

 

Nottingham will become the first place in Britain to impose a workplace parking levy (WPL) on top of the normal business rates after its executive board’s decision to act on what it regards as a positive public response. WPL revenues will be used to promote public transport infrastructure and service provision, particularly tram services.

The scheme could be operational by April 2010, depending on the granting of a Scheme Order by the transport secretary, who could order a public inquiry....
