Barnsley approves SQP

Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council has approved plans for a Quality Partnership Scheme covering the town’s interchange, bus stops within the town centre and the A61 Wakefield Road quality bus corridor.

The QPS will come into force on 30 May next year and uses powers of the Transport Act 2000. Services have been defined as ‘core’, ‘core 2’ and ‘complementary’. Core services will have to meet Euro III standards, core 2 will have to be Euro II, and Euro...
