GMITA to tackle rail overcrowding

Transport leaders in Greater Manchester are taking steps to tackle the severe overcrowding being experienced on the Rochdale and Huddersfield rail lines.

Greater Manchester Integrated Transport Authority (GMITA) is preparing to pay for some of the five train units freed up by the closure of the Oldham Loop Line earlier this month to increase peak capacity on the Rochdale and Huddersfield lines as soon as possible.
