Alstom's world first wireless tram hits six million kilometre mark

Alstom's world’s first tramway powered by a wireless system in Bordeaux, has covered more than six million kilometres since it entered operation at the end of 2003.

The Alimentation Par le Sol ground-level power supply was invented and developed by Alstom Transport and used on their Citadis trams which form the

Communaunte Urbaine de Bordeaux system.

Transporting over 200,000 passenger on its three tramlines every day, CUB was the first metropolitan area to opt for the APS technology...
