Brown is confirmed as statutory senior traffic commissioner

South Eastern & Metropolitan traffic commissioner Philip Brown has been appointed to the new post of statutory senior traffic commissioner by transport secretary Geoff Hoon, under new powers in the Local Transport Act.

He will be formally appointed and take up his new role when the powers come into force in the spring. Brown’s appointment follows a recruitment exercise amongst the existing traffic commissioners that was held late last year.
