Central London congestion returns to pre-charging levels

New data from Transport for London on the impacts of congestion charging on traffic volumes and congestion in central London indicate that the effects on traffic within the new western extension have been broadly similar to the impacts within the original charging area. The new report provides the first data on the impact of the western extension, where the congestion-charging scheme began operation in February 2007 (the original zone opened in February 2003).
