A new Safeguarding Direction has come into force to protect the route of the planned Chelsea Hackney Line. The railway route runs north from Wimbledon, where trains would share tracks with District Line trains, and then enters new tunnels north of the River Thames at Parsons Green. The line would connect with existing stations at Wimbledon Park, Southfields, East Putney, Putney Bridge and Parsons Green.
